Bayelsa State Government said it will address complaints arising from the last local government staff verification and payment exercise, so as to ensure that all genuine staff recieve their salaries.
Commissioner for Local Government Administration, Pastor Agatha Goma, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in her office in Yenagoa.
She commended local government workers for their understanding and orderliness during the last verification and payment exercise.
Goma, who was the head of the state monitoring team during the exercise, said it would also qualify genuine workers for other payments.
She said the verification exercise is yielding the desired result and called for team work at all times in order to move the councils forward.
It would be recalled that Goma visited the eight local government areas.
Those on the commissioner’s entourage include Special Adviser to the Governor on Establishment, Chief Benson Agadaga, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Matters, Mr. Robinson Etolor, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Suru Oyarede, as well as the Head of Department, Planning, Research and Statistics in the ministry, Mrs. Priscilla Preghafi.
