The Bayelsa Great House has denied reports that the immediate past chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd) collapsed and was flown abroad for medical treatment during the political rally of the All Progressive Congress in Nembe Local Government.
A statement by the chairman of the organization, Chief Ebinimi Owei and Secretary, Victor Ebi Woyinkuro explained that Inokoba is strong and healthy because he addressed the Assembly of Bayelsa Patriots forum in Yenagoa after the APC rally in Nembe.
The statement described the rumours as the hand work of faceless individuals sponsored by the PDP government of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson which should face reality that the retired Col. has dumped the PDP for APC and stop political propaganda, deceit and lies.
It explained that it is an indisputable fact that ninety-nine percent of the decampees left as a result of PDP deceit and lies, emphasizing that Inokoba’s sterling qualities especially his open door policy, maturity, sincerity and humility justified him.
According to the Bayelsa Great House, over 22, 562 members of the PDP across the state including eight PDP state working committee members and twelve non working committee members may have concluded plans to dump the PDP for APC before the party primaries.
The statement insisted that the defection of Inokoba to the All Progressive Congress has caused the death of PDP and confusion in the restoration of administration, considering the sudden shift of the governors declaration rally from the 28th of August, to 8th September, 2015.
It informed that it is unfortunate that the governor was wrongly advised and twisted to fight some anointed and prominent members in the PDP which prompted the suspension and expulsion of those perceived as threats to his re-election project.
The statement argued that the PDP is lifeless as state working committee members, national working committee members, ward chairmen, local government executives and staff are crying that they have not been paid salaries for four months.
According to the statement, Col. Inokoba’s non-violence style of politics will create more chances for the All Progressive Congress in the December, 5 2015 governorship election as the PDP has lost an asset as a result of selfishness.
