Bayelsa Progressive Movement, BPM, yesterday refuted the claim made by Timothy Owei on Tuesday that it has adopted Senator Heineken Lokpobiri for the state upcoming governorship election, describing it as baseless and misleading .
In a swift reaction to the said publication, the coordinating Director-General of the Youth Wing of BPM, Mr. Louis Stephen said the claim by Owei is a “calculated attempt by faceless persons attempting to discredit the organisation, describing him as faceless.
According to him, BPM has Chief Remember Ogbe as State Director, and Mr Louis Stephen as Coordinating Director-General of the Youth Wing. Other Directors include Mr. KiapeneTemene and Mr. Tarabina Ebitimi and others. The BPM structure spans through the 32 RDA’s and eight (8) local government areas of Bayelsa State, and all voting units and communities in the state.
BPM stated further that a check on its membership data base has revealed that Timothy Owei is not a member of the BPM family and so should be disregarded.
BPM is a political pressure group anchored on core values of selfless service to the people, transparency and accountability; a brain child of His Excellency Governor Henry Seriake Dickson in 2000.
