Bayern Munich jetted of to Qatar on Wednesday morning for their winter training camp ahead of Pep Guardiola’s final months at the club.
The squad, including injured players Mario Gotze, Mehdi Benatia, Franck Ribery and David Alaba, made the trip to Qatar’s capital city, Doha.
Guardiola is heading for the Premier League at the end of the season after deciding to leave Munich, where he will be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
The 44-year-old Spaniard is bidding to lead the side to a Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup Treble in his final season in charge.
The players, including Robert Lewandowski, who has netted 23 goals in 26 matches this term, were quick to take to their social media to keep fans up to date with their travels.
The Bayern manager announced on Tuesday that although the injured players cannot resume the squad programme at the moment, they will continue their individual rehab at the training camp.
‘Everybody’s going, the injured players too,’ he said.
A number of young players will also travel to Qatar to ensure regular training procedures take place.
Dutch winger Arjen Robben had missed Tuesday’s session but fans have nothing to worry about as his absence was only temporarily due to a cold.
Defender Benatia has also returned to light training after recovering from a muscle injury.
