YOUTH group from Benue
state “Benue Hopefuls 2019”
has called on comrade Richard
Gbamwuan, to contest 2019
governorship election in the
state stressing that they know
he has the capacity to do it as
seen in his performance as the
North central zonal secretary,
medical and health workers
union.
Leader of the group
Terhemen Bem, and secretary,
Ochai Oguche, made this
known in Jos in separate
response shortly after soliciting
for Comrade Gbamwuan, to
contest the office of governor in
Benue state in the forthcoming
general elections.
They declared that the
present administration in
Benue has not performed well
in office.
The youth group who came
to Jos, Plateau state, yesterday
said they were in search of
better representation.
“We are a concern youth
group yearning for a better
Benue state. Our association
is not a political group, we
are not sponsored by anyone.
Our concern is a better future
that our younger once and
children to inherit, that’s why
we are here calling on comrade
Richard Gbamwuan to contest
the governorship position.”
Secretary of the group Ochai
Oguche, lamented that “Benue
people are suffering untold
hardship, our parents have
withdrawn their children
from schools because they
cannot pay school fee. 70
percent of citizens in Benue
state cannot assess medication
due to lack of funds, simply
because the governor failed
in his responsibilities to
pay civil servants their due
entitlements.
“We beckon on Comrade
Richard Gbamwuan to come
and salvage our state 2019 as
governor. We know he has
the capacity to do it, we have
seen his performance as the
north central zonal secretary,
medical and health workers
union.”
It will be recalled that
Comrade Gbamwuan recently
visited his kinsmen in Naka,
Gwer West local government
area of Plateau state and made
his intension known to contest
the 2019 governorship office of
Benue state.
According to Gbamwuan,
during the consultative meeting
with his kinsmen, he was moved
to contest the elections following
alleged maladministration by
the incumbent governor.
He said if elected he will
address incessant workers’
strike due to nonpayment of
salaries. He also said insecurity
and lack of unity will become
history.
