FORMER Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro has slammed Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, accusing him of mortgaging the future of the state.
Moro who spoke with newsmen at the burial of the grandmother of the former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam, expressed regret that the over N59billion which the governor borrowed has not translated to development of the state.
He said: “This administration is ruining Benue and mortgaging its future. Workers are owed more than 5 months’ salary. They are even short changed.
“Most governors, including APC governors are embarking on several projects while Ortom’s government is merely embarking on propaganda. Governance should begin; Benue is a disaster waiting to happen. What we call Benue today is a debt that would be left to be paid by our children.”
Moro also frowned at the ongoing anti corruption war in the state which he said, apart from being lopsided, lacks transparency.
“The corruption fight should be carried out transparently, justly and with the fear of God. Justice must be seen to be done to those arrested. Partisanship would be a major affront to the governor. I hope Suswam and others get justice at the end. Suswam tried his hands in the development of the state,” Moro said.
