Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, said the College of Health Sciences, Benue State University, has received accreditation for five years.
The development may have put to an end the suffering of several medical students who have been stagnated for 12 years due to lack of accreditation.
Ortom, who made the disclosure during a retreat in Makurdi, the state capital, yesterday, said the accreditation was as a result of concerted efforts to meet the requirements of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
He displayed a letter signed by the Registrar of the council, Dr AA Ibrahim, conveying the accreditation to the vice chancellor of the university.
