Mayegun Alani defiled his six year old daughter

A 60 year old man, Mayegun Alani has been arrested by Ogun State Police command for defiling a six year old girl.

Mayegun, who is the landlord to the victim’s parents was said to have committed the offence at No 3, Meyegun Street, Sango in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, the mother of the girl noticed unusual pains on the girl while bathing her.

The mother, according to the police, got the clue to the incident after asking questions from the little girl.

The suspect, who was arrested immediately, according to the statement, initially denied the allegation but later confessed after drilling by the operatives.

He was said to have confessed to having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl for more than a month.

Adejobi, a Superintendent of Police, said medical report on the girl confirmed the defilement allegation.

The statement read, “The operatives attached to Otta Division of the command have arrested one Mayegun Alani, Male, 60, for defiling a 6 year old girl, on 21st July at No 3 Mayegun Street, Sango, in Ado Odo Otta Local Government Area of Ogun State.

“The police were informed by the mother of the victim who noticed  that the girl felt pains whenever she was taking her bath with unusual signs.

“The mother asked the little baby some questions  which gave a clue that the landlord was responsible  for her defilement.

“The suspect was arrested by the police immediately. Initially he denied the allegation but later confessed to the crime that he has been having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl for at least a month.

“And medical report  confirmed that the girl has been defiled.”

Adejobi said the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge or zone 2 has directed the case to be transferred to the Command’s Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Unit for thorough investigation and prosecution.

He said the AIG, who is overseeing Ogun State command has assured not to spare anyone caught in any criminal act or related offences.
