Member representing Bokkos/Mangu federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Solomon Maren has said that President Muhammadu Buhari should be blamed for the leadership crisis at the two chambers of the National Assembly.
The lawmaker while speaking to journalists in Jos blamed President Buhari for influencing the leadership crisis in the two chambers of the National Assembly by his body language, further saying that the best solution to the crisis is the president himself.
“Mr President has decided to influence the National Assembly by his body language and that is not going to help us. Mr President must come up very clear and tell his party men what he thinks should be and once he does that there will be no problem of leadership tussle in the two chambers of National Assembly”.
Maren called on APC members in the National Assembly not to make the issue of leadership become a priority over their primary responsibility, saying “Nigerians are watching and there is need for all of them to perform their primary responsibility of representing the entire citizens. .
“The APC is doing Nigeria a disservice by causing confusion in the various houses of the National Assembly, but to some of us members of the PDP we know that the primary objective of anyone being in the National Assembly is to give quality representation once you get elected. The issue of power sharing is secondary because primarily you are the representative of the people and if you clearly have the mandate and vision of why you’re representing your people, definitely you will not be bothered about what leadership position you will take on the floor of the National Assembly”.
He however cautioned that the PDP members will not take any shift in the date of resumption of the National Assembly which is slated for Tuesday 28th July, 2015
