Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board has commenced statewide inspection and administration record tour to all the 14 local education authority headquarters in the state.
This was made known by the Acting Executive Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Sidi Yakubu Bakura when his team visited Gusau Local Government Education Authority headquarters yesterday.
Alhaji Sidi said, one of the cardinal objectives of the visit was to ensure proper record keeping in all the 14 LGEA offices in the state for effective utilization, planning, organization and implementation of basic education programme across the state.
Bakura said SUBEB had short listed all administrative facilities which needed to be maintained by all the administrative officers in their respective LGEA offices.
He said, during the supervision visit, the Board identified a total of 118 staff on course, out of the 717 teaching staff, 153 public schools as well as 77 registered private schools under Gusau local government council of the state.
He decried total negligence in record keeping by some Local Education Authority managers as factors bedeviling SUBEB in fully implementing its programmes successfully in the state, hence the need to draw their attention in order to achieve the UBE desired objectives in the state.
“Our visit will help us to ascertain the comprehensive list of our staff on courses, posting and transfer, staff attendance register, school data among others,” Bakura contended.
He cautioned all the quality assurance officers of the Board responsible for the regular supervision in all the primary and post primary schools in the state on the need to rededicate themselves to their primary responsibilities in order to attain successful implementation of the Federal Government’s Universal Basic Education Programme in the state.
