It was a sad moment for the parents of Ramatu, an 18-year-old girl of Shekal ward in Bauchi local government area of Bauchi state, when they received shocking news that a 14-year-old boy stabbed her to death.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that a minor disagreement occurred between the 14-year- old boy, Isma’il Idris of Kofar Gombe ward and the deceased, Ramatu Aminu of Shekal ward all in Bauchi local government area where the accused threatened to kill her.
Our correspondent learnt that the accused has been disturbing the innocent girl for a very long time until that fateful day when the disagreement got out of control as the accused brought a scissors and stabbed Ramatu on the neck.
Isma’il made an attempt to escape but was apprehended by the volunteered security men within the community before he was handed over to the police and he is now cooling off his heels in police custody.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the police PRO, DSP Haruna Muhammad explained that on 16/4/2015 (Thursday) at about 17:45hrs (5:45pm), Police detectives attached to township Division arrested one Ismael Idris, male, (14) of Kofar Gombe ward in Bauchi state for stabbing an 18-year-old girl.
DSP Haruna said the suspect Ismail Idris used scissors and stabbed one Ramatu Aminu,a female, (18) of Shekal ward on her neck over minor argument at a bakery that resulted to her death.
He added that the deceased was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, ATBU, Bauchi for proper medical attention but she later died while receiving treatment, saying the case is still under investigation.
