Breaking: Ex Adamawa Governor Barka Dumps APC For PDP

Former acting governor of Adamawa state, Ambassador James Barka, has defected from the All Progressives Congress to the People’s Democratic Party.

Barka, who was Nigeria’s Ambassador to Malaysia under the Goodluck Jonathan regime, officially announced his decampment on Thursday in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

He said, “recall I’ve always been a PDP man. Under their party I was elected member of the state Assembly and I became the Speaker.

“Under the same PDP I became acting governor and later ambassador.

“I only veered off into the APC, leaving my teeming supporters behind, and as you can see; I’ve returned home”, he said.

He was acting governor in 2008 and later decamped to APC in 2014 where he contributed immensely to the election of the APC governorship candidate, Jibrilla Bindo.

Receiving the former acting governor, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, said the PDP government’s doors were opened to well meaning persons who would support the development of the state.

Also today, the splinter PDP, popularly known as rPDP, collapsed its structure and pledged allegiance to Governor Fintiri.

Led by its state chairman, Jauro Blueguy, the former rPDP members said, they abandoned the splinter group following the people oriented leadership of Governor Fintiri.

All executive committee members if group from the ward level attended the ceremony at the banquet hall of the the Government House.
