British government has extended a good hand of fellowship to the newly installed Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki pledging to work with him in promoting the bilateral relationship between the Nigerian and British government.
This was made known when the British High Commissioner, Dr. Andrew Pocook, paid Senator Saraki a courtesy visit at the office of the Senate president, National Assembly, Abuja, yesterday.
In a statement from the media office of the Senate president signed by Bamikole Omishore, Senator Saraki eulogised the continued bilateral relationship existing between Nigerian and the United Kingdom, UK, while assuring that the present administration is determined to fulfill its obligations to the betterment of the nation.
Senator Saraki further stressed that Nigeria will always look forward to Britain in areas of infrastructural development and socio-security. According to the host, “I am very delighted to receive Your Excellency in my office barely 48 hours to my resumption to office. This shows the level of commitment the British government has towards the course of Nigeria.
Earlier, the British High Commissioner congratulated the president of the Senate on the success of his election adding that the United Kingdom will always walk closely with Nigeria government in ensuring good governance at all levels.
