President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday sacked the Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Isah Ari, barely six months of his appointment by the immediate past administration under Senator Bala Mohammed.
The President also ordered the sack of the Chairman of FCT Secondary Education Board, Mr. Moroof Akinwade as well as that of the FCT Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, Alhaji Umar Barau Ningi.
Their sack was contained in a letter with reference No. SGF.19/S.81/T1/97, sent to FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. Obinna Chukwu, yesterday by the Secretary to the Federal Government, David Lawal Babachir.
The letter noted that the Federal Government’s directive was sequel to a circular ref. No. SGF.19/S.81/XIX/964 on the dissolution of the Governing Boards of the Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions and Government Owned Companies.
The letter added that the directive also applies to all the Boards of the FCT Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions and Government Owned Companies.
Following the development, the FCT Permanent Secretary directed the affected persons to hand over all duties and responsibilities of their offices as well as government belongings in their possession.
Meanwhile, the FCT Administration has expressed its profound appreciation to the affected officers for their contributions to the development of the FCT and wished them success in their future endeavours.
