…inaugurates 5th assembly in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said that the impeachment plot against him by the 19 All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmakers failed because the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, did not have a hand in the process.
Fayose, who made the remarks yesterday as the fifth assembly was inaugurated at the state house of assembly complex in Ado-Ekiti, where a new speaker, Rt. Hon. Kola Oluwawole, emerged as the speaker.
The governor who said, “Security information reaching me confirms that Buhari did not have any hands in my impeachment that is why the process failed.”
He added that with the proclamation of the 5th assembly, holding its first session yesterday, the impeachment plot against him is dead in Ekiti State.
According to him, “we will resist any attempt to muzzle the opposition in Ekiti State, promising to continue to stand on the side of the truth and on the side of the people, who stood by him during the period the impeachment crisis lasted.”
Governor Fayose, who noted that he has just assume the position of the governor of Ekiti State, declaring that in the last seven months, it has been that of distraction for him and the state.
He also warned the new lawmakers in the state not to be over ambitious in their dealings telling them that “your primary duty is to legislate but don’t try to be deputy Governor”
He urged them not to disappoint the people of the state who have elected them into office.
He also called on the new Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, to be humble in his new position saying, “Your humility will make you last for a long time” and informing the new lawmakers, “any attack on the new speaker is an attack on Fayose”
In his inaugural address, the Speaker of the fifth assembly, Rt. Hon. Kola Oluwawole, promised to work hard with the executive for development and growth of the state.
