President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi.
President Muhammadu ordered Kifasi to proceed on terminal leave barely two months to the expiration of his tenure.
Mr. Kifasi, who is due for retirement in December, has been asked to leave office with effect from Monday.
The letter conveying the President’s decision was issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir David Lawal.
While no official reason was given for the sudden removal of the Head of Service, a competent Presidency source said Mr. Kifasi was asked to proceed on terminal leave in order to ensure adherence to the Federal Character principles as enshrined in the Constitution.
