CONTRARY to insinuations that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has brought untold hardship on Nigerians, a cleric, Pastor Akeem Idoniboye has stated that the economy had made people to look inward on what they could do for themselves, as well as prudent in expenditures. Idoniboye, who is the lead pastor of Glorious Destiny Family Church in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, stated this during a sermon yesterday.
The cleric, who spoke on the topic,’The Decision is Yours,’ submitted that the steps taken by Buhari on the economy would be beneficial to Nigerians in the longterm, adding that what had been the bane of Nigeria’s economy was absence of good long-term plan. “One thing people don’t know is that Buhari’s economy has made people to look inward instead of waiting to share money here and there. People have also started being prudent in their expenditure. Today you don’t just serve people food you give them a little and if they need more then you add, instead of allowing for waste.
“People have also thought of little businesses that can enable them make money instead of waiting for favours,” he said. Quoting James 1:23-24 and II Corinthians 4:14-18, respectively, Idoniboye said in order to make good decisions, one must seek God’s face and consult those who knew more. He said: “In making decision, some of the things you must note is that you are responsible for the life you have. Secondly, decision creates event; it is not an end; and thirdly, you must have long term thinking, whether as an individual or business entity.”
