Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has warned opposition politicians in Nigeria to desist from criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s foreign trips and allegation of being too slow in dealing with the major challenges facing the nation.
Governor Abubakar made the remark on Sunday in Burra village during the distribution of empowerment materials presented by a member representing Burra constituency at the state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Sa’ad Abdulqadir, saying it is unfair to accuse the All Progressives Congress governments at all levels which have only been in office for less than a year.
“For anybody to accuse the APC administrations for being slow is not fair to us after all the foreign trips of President is yielding positive results, the APC administrations should be allowed to spend 16 years in office before such conclusions can be reached. The insecurity the country found itself under the past administration, corruption activities has become a thing of the past under the president administration, but regretted that the critics of the administration appeared to have forgotten all these achievement” he said
The Governor therefore charged the opposition to scout for better issues of national interest to engage the APC administrations on and stop criticizing the “foreign trips of the President and the anti-corruption campaign launched by his administration which has yielded positive results.
He said with the blockades of leakages and loopholes through which public treasury was being siphoned as well as “foreign trips embarked upon by president Buhari, adequate resources that will finance more than half of the 2016 budget have been saved by the President, saying that the President and all APC governors are working assiduously to turn around the economy and reduced over dependence on oil revenue.
Also speaking, the Acting Chairman of Ningi Local government area, Alhaji Nasir Ibrahim Dewu thanked the Governor for restoring security to the area that was ravaged by cattle rustling, armed robbery, kidnappings and other forms of insecurity under the past administration, and appealed to the Governor to replace the electricity poles that fell down in the community and renovate general hospital Burra that has gone comatose.
The commissioner of health, Dr. Halima Musa Mukaddas announced that the Governor has approved the inclusion of 10 more hospitals into the state drug revolving fund, including the general hospital, Burra.
The commissioner announced the immediate posting of a medical officer to the general hospital, Burra and revealed that all the requests made by the nursing officer like the provision of beds and mattresses, fencing and power generating plant have been captured in the 2016 budget.
