All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State has congratulated its ‎presidential candidate and president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on his victory at the just concluded presidential election, saying it was a victory hard-won.
In a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, and made available to newsmen in Akure, the state capital, yesterday, the party said the victory of Gen Buhari was well deserved because the party worked very hard to achieve it.
“We congratulate our presidential candidate and president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), on his victory at the just concluded election.
“We must particularly express our satisfaction with the fact that the outgoing president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated the president-elect on his victory and concede defeat in the election; it’s exemplary.”
The statement noted further that the emergence of Gen. Buhari had restored the hope of common man and signalled the beginning of a new Nigeria.
“The robust government that the people have been yearning for has finally come.
“Our country is very fortunate, we are proud and happy, it is a very rare feat, it is worth celebrating with so much happiness in our hearts we congratulate not only our party but Nigerians.”
The party assured Nigerians that APC and Gen Buhari would not disappoint them, as robust dividends of democracy would be enjoyed across the length and breadth of the country.
“We urge all Nigerians to see the outcome of the election as the will of vast majority of Nigerians and embrace peace till the gubernatorial and state houses of assembly elections are conducted on April 11, 2015, and beyond,” the statement read.
