A building located at 14, Ijaye street, Alhaja One bus stop, near Abiola Market, Agege, Lagos, yesterday collapsed as a torrential rainfall took over the metropolis.
According to National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, southwest spokesman, Ibrahim Farinloye, no one was hurt as emergency rescuers and neighbours responded quickly to the incident.
It said that the Lagos Building Control Agency evacuated all occupants of the collapsed building.
Meanwhile, the rain which started around 11:45 a.m. flooded most area of the state as motorists and people were left trapped.
Speaking to Nigerian Sunday Pilot, Mr. Charles Ibeh, said that he walked a long distance before getting home as most commercial buses stayed off the flooded roads leaving passengers stranded at the various bus stops.
