The business Community in Nsukka, Enugu state have called on Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, to address the epileptic power supply in the area.

The President of the business community in Nsukka, Comrade Okagu Augustine, while talking to news men  in Enugu, said most business activities in Nsukka are languishing due to lack of power.

He said their predicament was further compounded by the exorbitant estimated bills, wondering the justification of such bills when they do not get power regularly.

They advised that the abandoned power project at Nru Junction should be completed as a means of solving acute problem in the area.

They stated, “We want to state with deep pain in our hearts that the power supply in Nsukka zone has gone from bad to worst. Epileptic power has killed our businesses, yet we are still paying relevant rates to the government.

“In addition to this, we are being over-laboured with exorbitant estimated bill from the Electricity Distribution Company; it would have been a different scenario if we do enjoy the power supply to a reasonable extent. But the reverse is the case as we have continued to pay for power we never used.
