The youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, has berated the Bishop of the Anglican Dioceses of Kaduna and vice chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of CAN, Bishop Idowu Fearon over his call on President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN over the purported funds given to it by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
North Central chairman of the association, Engr Daniel Kadzai made this position known in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital while reacting to statements credited to Bishop Fearon in which he was quoted to have called on President Buhari to probe the Christian Association of Nigeria on alleged fund given to the association by former President Jonathan to carryout campaign for his failed second term bid.
He noted that such statements coming from a “supposed” man of God was unfortunate and urged President Buhari to ignore individuals that were out to mislead his administration.
“He should bring forward evidence to show that CAN collected money from the former President to campaign and even if it is true that money was given, it means the bishop who is also an active member of CAN has benefitted from it and so cannot turn round to make noise,” he maintained.
The youth CAN leader asserted that the man of God has failed in his duty to unite the followers and also share in the pains of innocent Nigerians that were being killed on a daily basis by insurgents in Kaduna, Borno, Yobe and incessant attacks on the people of Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, Taraba and other parts of the country.
Engr. Kadzai further regretted that “the bishop is saying nothing about the unfortunate killings of innocent Nigerians by insurgents but is rather interested in sowing the seed of discord amongst the people”.
While congratulating President Buhari for his successful swearing-in, Kadzai urged Nigerians to be prayerful so as to enable the new President succeed in the task of moving the nation forward.
