Abia Police Command yesterday paraded three car snatching suspects, while Honda CRV, with registration number, CE 202 MMA, Toyota Camry, with registration number, SSM 192 KK and Mercedes Benz 19E, with registration number ES 39 PHC were recovered from them.
Parading the suspects, Chukwuma Egwim, Chinedu Linus and Obinna Orji at the Central Police Station Umuahia, the Abia State Police Commissioner, Habila Joshak said they were arrested on March 21, 2015, following a report from a resident of World Bank Housing Estate in Aba that a Honda CRV belonging to a reverend father of Umuohiri, Onuimo, Imo State was removed from where it was packed at Anairi-Nta, Ihite Uboma LGA.
He said the tracking device indicated that the vehicle was at Nony Hotels along Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, Aba.
The CP said, “A team of police patrol swung into action, gave the vehicle a hot chase and eventually intercepted them during which three suspects were arrested and the vehicle was recovered.”
Also paraded were two kidnap suspects, Samuel Ahuchaogu and Onyekwere Sunday, who had on March 25, 2015, kidnapped one Gold Njoku while on evangelism at Okpuala Ngwa.
According to the CP, “detectives of Anti-Kidnap Unit (D7) of State CID on patrol within the area in conjunction with Isiala Ngwa North patrol team swung into action and arrested the duo.”
He said the victim, 55-year-old Njoku, was rescued in a bush at Umuihe village, Osisioma and a Mercedes Benz 230 car with registration number DU 240 AAA was recovered.
Nigerian Pilot Saturday reports that the suspects confessed to the crime.
