NO FEWER than 120 Athletes from various part of
Nigeria will this weekend engage themselves in battle for
honours when the third edition of Chika Chukwumerije
Sports Foundation, CCSF prix series gets underway
inside Old parade ground located within the Nation’s
capital, Abuja.
Already, Taekwondo Athlete from 12 states including
Zamfara, Plateau, Ogun, Niger, Kebbi, Edo, Delta, Cross
River, Borno, Benue, Abia and host state, FCT have
declared interest and registered for the grassroots event
taking place between September 8 and 9, 2017.
The competition put together by CCSF and FCT
Taekwondo Association was designed to develop
Athletes, Coaches and Referess at the grassroots.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, one of the
participating Athletes, Joy Ikpeamaeze who actually won
silver medals in both Kerougi and Poomsae during the last
edition in July this year remarked; “I have been training
in the past without getting opportunity to participate
in any competition. But this competition has actually
exposed me. Fighting in the very first tournament, I
was so vervous. But fighting in the subsequent edition,
i gained more courage and it’s been a good experience.
“This time I’m going to for the gold and gain more
experience. I also intend to get better position on the

editions assured of his readiness to continuously achieve
new heights.
