Brazil winger, Neymar believes his Barcelona side and Italian giants, Juventus are better placed to reach the UEFA Champions League finals in Berlin ahead of Pep Guardiola’s led Bayern Munich side and their local rivals, Real Madrid.
Neymar was on the score sheet to help the Catalans to an emphatic 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich last Wednesday to hold a three goal cushion ahead of next Tuesday’s return leg at the Allianz Arena in Germany while Real Madrid fell 2-1 to Juventus in Italy last Tuesday with Ronaldo scoring a consolation that might turn out to be a vital goal when the Italians visit the Bernabeau next Wednesday.
Speaking at a PokerStars event, a company which he is an ambassador for, Neymar spoke about Barcelona’s Champions League chances but would not rule out Bayern or Real reaching the Berlin final just yet.
“There are still 90 minutes to go in Munich. We put in a great performance, but we mustn’t forget that we still have the return leg to come.”
“Barcelona and Juve have the upper hand, but there are 90 minutes to be played. Bayern and Real Madrid have top quality players who are capable of anything in a match. We will go to Munich in a calm and humble state, knowing that we are playing at a very difficult ground,” Neymar said as quoted on Marca.
The Brazilian skipper was one of the key performers Barca’s convincing win over the German champions when he sealed victory with a coolly finished strike in stoppage time to put his side in pole position for the showpiece final on 6th June.
