An interest group, Enugu State
Development Association, ESDA,
has advised Chime and majority
members of the house of assembly
to end the dispute between them
in the interest of Enugu people.
Addressing newsmen
yesterday at a Town Hall Meeting
organised by Enugu State
Development Associatio, ESDA,
the acting President General of
the association, Chief Elechi Onyia
said they resolved that Chime
should not interfere with the
affairs of legislature, adding that
legislature was also urged to stop
impeachment of the governor in
the interest of peace.
Onyia however, expressed
dismay that in spite of the fact that
Enugu state Judiciary Workers
were on strike, a purported
detention order was made against
the speaker and members of the
house in support of the speaker.
He said that if it was true that an
order was made when the court
was not sitting against Odoh, it
was unfortunate.
The legal luminary, however,
said they would meet with the
Chief Judge of Enugu State to
ensure that the magistrate who
issued the purported order is
Onyia added that they resolved
that a legal committee be set up to
look into all allegations involving
the dispute between the executive
and the law makers to ensure that
the interest of Enugu People and
tax payers was lawfully protected.
