A Chinese expatriate working at a plywood company at Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The suspected kidnappers were alleged to have invaded the company’s premises last week Thursday and whisked away the expatriate simply identified as Ginger.
It was reliably gathered that, following an information, the police arrested one man simply identify as Ade, who was alleged to have visited the premises before the incident.
However, Ondo State Police Command has deployed its men to comb the bush in the area, following the recovery of two mobile phones believed to belong to some of the abductors.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the incident said efforts were on to track down the suspected kidnappers and rescue the victim.
The PPRO disclosed that few days before the kidnap, two men visited the company and one of them has been arrested while the other was still on the run.
He said one Ade has been arrested by the police on the ground that he visited the company alongside with one other person who is still at large before the hoodlums invaded the company and abducted the expatriate.
DSP Joseph assured that the victim would soon be rescued just as one Reverend Japhet Obafemi of Apostolic Faith Church, who was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified gunmen at Ilepa in Ikare Akoko area of the state, has been rescued.
He said the man of God was rescued at a point in Ile-Ife in Osun State after spending a couple of days with his abductors.
