Chinese Women Association in Angola has set up a fund for Angolan orphans, raising some 100,000 dollars for the fund.
The association on Wednesday held a party in southern Luanda for the orphans. The Chinese entrepreneurs present donated 15.16 million kwanzas (about 100,000 dollars) to the fund.
The Secretary General of the Association, Xue Zhimei, said the donation would be used as starting money for charity efforts.
She said the Association would work with the Angolan Government and local charity organisations to help orphans in need.
Xue called on the Chinese communities in Angola to contribute to the fund for orphans as well as the most vulnerable people in the African country.
The Association was established in Luanda in June 2015. Xinhua/NAN
