Nigeria Pilot Saturday recalls that there was an outbreak of cholera in Jos, which led to deaths of some persons.
According to the council official, “We also informed people on factors that can lead to the possible outbreak of cholera and provided drugs for emergencies and the need to maintain personal hygiene and environmental sanitation.”
Lohlum said the outbreak of the diseases was due to the last workers strike, which led to scarcity of potable water and heaps of refuse that littered the streets in many neighbourhoods.
“With the onset of the rainy season, such dirt was washed into various water sources which possibly led to the outbreak,” the director said.
