Men of Denton Police Division have arraigned a 32-year-old, church worker, Olayeni Olumuyiwa, before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court, on three count Charges bordering on conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
The accused, a facility manager with Rhema Chapel international, located at 120, Murtala Muhammed Way, Ebute Metta, was alleged to have conspired with others now at large to break into the house of one Engineer Ayodele Adeniyi, at 22, Murtala Muhammed way, on February 2, 2015, at about 3.40 pm.
The accused was also alleged to have stolen some items, which include: an internet server, computer, one Cello digital television, a Quick Sat Global television, a pair of strobes.
He was also alleged to have unlawfully damaged one and half horsepower Panasonic window and split air conditioners.
A police source informed Nigerian Pilot Sunday that the accused was arrested for committing the alleged offences, while resulting to self-help, by ejecting the complainant from his office, which the employer claimed to have bought from the landlord of the complainant.
The police source however said from the investigation conducted the landlord to the complaint had not inform his tenants of change of ownership of the property claimed to have been bought by the church worker before committing the offences.
The accused, however pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge levelled against him by the police.
Magistrate Tanimola, also ordered that sureties must be gainful employed, with three years tax payable to Lagos State government, and have their addresses verified by the court’s prosecutor.
The matter has been adjourned till June 3, 2015, for mention.
