An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Adam Sokoto has cautioned Nigerian leaders to fear Allah in the discharge of their duties.
The cleric in his Ramadan sermon delivered in Sokoto during Tafsir, at Izalat Mosque, asserted that the electorate who voted leaders into power were not blind in choosing them, saying even if they were blind Allah is not blind.
He therefore called on the electorate to stop pointing accusing fingers on the leaders, rather they should embark on prayers-upon-prayers to enable them deliver the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
“Fear Allah in discharging your duties at all times,” the cleric warned new leaders.
He also used the medium to plead with wealthy individuals in the society to use the Ramadan fast period and assist the less privileged in the society by providing them with foods and alms to enable them carter for their family.
