Member of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Nwaogu Emmanuel, has petitioned the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi, following the Provost of Ikwo College of Education, Prof. Silas Omebe’s alleged encroachment into his land located at Ugwuachara in Ebonyi Local Government Area.
In a six paragraph petition addressed to the governor and signed by Nwaogu titled “Report of oppression intimidation,
suppression and forceful encroachment into my land by one Prof Omebe,’ the petitioner appealed to the governor to wade into the impasse in order to forestall crisis.
“I humbly wish to bring to your notice a case of oppression, intimidation and forceful encroachment into my land situated at Ugwuachara Community in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State with survey plan number DA/EB146/2013 by one Professor Omebe, the Provost, College of Education, Ikwo.
“The said professor bought about 40 plots of land at Ugwuachara near my own plot this year and erected a nine inches block fence round it, encroaching into my land which I bought from one Mr. Emmanuel Mbam in 2013. My own plot was surveyed, registered and its power of attorney properly executed.
“Professor Omebe crossed the road given as access into my land, uprooted my fence and erected his mighty fence. When I approached him on the matter, he vowed never to remove his fence nor pay me compensation. Also three other persons whose plots of land were affected by this same act equally cried to him, but he never wanted to consider any of us.
“Sir, I passionately plead that you use your honourable, godly office and disposition to prevail on him to remove his fence or pay for the plot of land he has rendered useless,” he pleaded.
