Barely two weeks after the demise of the Chairman of Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, Adeyemi College of Education, ACE, Ondo chapter, Mr. Dominic Akinseye in a ghastly motor accident along Sagamu/Ore express way, a student of the institution been reported dead after he was said to have slumped during an excursion visit to Erin-Ijesa waterfall in Osun State.
It was reliably gathered that the victim, whose name was giving as Akinsiku Michael Timileyin, was said to be a year four degree student at the Department of English Language in the institution. It was reliably gathered that he was hale and hearty before embarking on the excursion on the fateful day.
In attendance during the exercise were the executive members of the Student Union Government, SUG, of the school, as well as other students from various Departments in the college.
According to a source close to the executive members of the SUG, the student had arrived at the Erin-Ijesa water fall at the early hours of the day and had climbed the hill to catch fun, it was learnt that while the student were coming down that the victim suddenly slumped.
Nigeria pilot learnt that preliminary attention was given to the victim by his colleagues and other people at the water fall, as he was quickly rushed to the emergency unit of a private hospital in Ilesha town, a journey of about fifteen minutes drive away.
However, in spite of the intervention of the medical expert, all effort made to revive the late Timileyin proved abortive as he was later confirmed dead by the doctors.
When our correspondent visited the campus , several students at the Department of English Language were seen gathered in groups discussing the incident while some were seen crying and wailing over the death.
Speaking on the incidents, the SUG President, Isiaka Kamarudeen, described the situation as very unfortunate. He explained that the journey to Erin-Ijesa water fall was part of the activities to round up the celebration of the annual SUG week in the school.
