THE new commissioner for Youth and Sports, Enugu state, Mr. Charles Ndukwe, has assured coaches and players of Rangers International F.C of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s commitment towards settling their arrears of salary.
Speaking to the coaches and players at a luncheon, in his office, Monday, the commissioner said the state government was interested in addressing the welfare of the coaches and players, adding that the state government is happy that the club qualified for the quarter-final of the federation cup and the progress they are making in the on-going premiership.
Mr. Ndukwe said he had received several messages from more than a hundred people to return Rangers to its lost glory, urged the players to ensure they win the federation cup this year.
He presented N1million naira cheque from the chairman, Rangers management board, Chief Festus Onuh, to the captain of the club, Okey Odita.
In her speech, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Anibueze said she was happy seeing the players in their office. She commended the players for qualifying for the quarter-final of the Federation cup.
In his vote of thanks, the captain of Rangers , Okey Odita, assured the commissioner they would win the Federation Cup and premiership this season.
