AS part of his mandate to
see to the smooth running of
the Lagos State Ministry of
Housing, the Commissioner,
Mr. Gbolahan Wasiu Lawal–
Akapo recently inspected
projects under his Ministry.
The Commissioner
visited Lagos State Homes
Ownership Mortgage
Scheme, LagosHOMS, in
Omole Estate, including
By Amadin Idahosa Igando, Oko–Oba, Agege, Chief
Anthony Enahoro Housing
Estate Ogba, Omole Phase 2,
and Magodo.
According to the
commissioner, the tour was to
familiarise him with the Lagos
HOMS sites and to see the level
of work done.
“I want to see all the sites that
we have, where construction
works are ongoing,” he
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of
work done so far, commending
the supervisors of the project.
He later assured that his
future plan is to look at
the projects left by the last
administration, promising to do
everything necessary to see to
the completion of the ongoing
He said, “We would review
and appraise and come up with
a strategy to improve on what
was met in order to close the
housing gap between the high
earners and the low income
“This is necessary because the
high income earners can always
build their own houses, which
is why others have to be duly
considered.” He revealed.
