The member representing Udu constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Peter Uviejitobor, has been urged to facilitate the construction of roads and provision of electricity in the area.
This call was made yesterday by members of Udu Timber Union, UTU, who congratulated the lawmaker on his victory in the last general elections.
They said the provision of good roads and electricity will enhance business, performance and productivity.
Its chairman, Mr. Abel Odiete, described the lawmaker as a man of humility compared to other state assembly contestants in the past.
“Our business began from Market Road, Warri, but our zeal to add value to the development of Udu kingdom led us to establish our sawmills here popularly known as Udu Harbour Market and this business has been a major source of livelihood to the area by providing gainful employment, supply of quality timbers of various sizes to developers.”
The union appealed to the state government to tackle the non- availability of electricity, saying it would increase their productivity.
