Julius Berger Services Nigeria, JBSN, limited, a subsidiary of the engineering construction giant, JBN Plc, has been honoured with the award of the best port terminal management company of the year.
The Award was given by the prestigious Institute for Government Research Leadership Technology at its 2015 African Governance and Corporate Leadership Awards Ceremony held in Abuja recently.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the institute, Ambassador Moses Essien, stated that the internationally acclaimed award received by JBSN, was evaluated by the constituted technical board and committee.
“The international acclaimed award given to Julius Berger Service Nigerian LTD, JBSN, was evaluated and decided upon by a credibly constituted technical board and committee, which objectively and professionally considered clearly measurable parameters in evaluating nominees to decide a winner for the award.
“The considerations by the board and committees included, expertise in port terminal operation and warehousing , excellence in container handling and logistics, high service quality, track record for competence and value creation, promotion and implementation of best practices in administration and operations, best practices in health, safety and environmental issues and compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines, professional codes and ethics and local content and community development policy agenda” he stated.
Meanwhile, Essien Acknowledged that, JBSN, like its parent company Julius Berger Nigeria, JBN, PLC, has proactively, creatively moved above out-dated and unproductive business and operational model to emerge as a sector leader in the port terminal management category in the maritime industry. Adding that, the company is therefore committed to delivering quality and reliable service to its clients, reducing unemployment and contributing seriously to the country’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
