A Sokoto Magistrates Court has ordered the remand of two men, Nehemiah Emmanuel and Yakubu Sunday, both of Mabera area of Sokoto, over alleged house-breaking and criminal conspiracy.
The duo was accused of breaking into the house of one Faith Pius of the same area, where they stole N 62, 000.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges while Magistrate Abubakar Adamu ordered their remand in prison custody and adjourned the case till March 6 for further mention.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Ngumut Philemon told the court that the accused persons committed the offences on December 2, 2016.
Philemon alleged that they broke into the room of Pius and stole the money, also with three cell phones and two wrappers.
He said one of the suspects, Sunday, was arrested while trying to escape.
The offences contravened the provisions of Sections 97, 356 and 288 of the Penal Code Law.
