An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court on Thursday remanded a motorcyclist, Abdulwaheed Ayinde, in prison for allegedly riding his motorcycle dangerously and killing a pedestrian, Ajiboye Fatah.

The Magistrate, Mrs Kudirat Yahaya, refused the plea of the accused, and ordered his remand at Okekura Prisons, Ilorin.

The accused, who resides in Adabata area of Ilorin, is facing a two-count charge of dangerous riding and murder.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Matthew Ologbonsaye, told the court that the accused rode his motorcycle with registration no.  TTN 414 WH  in a dangerous manner at Edun area of Ilorin and knocked down Fatah on an unspecified date.

Ologbonsaye said the offences contravened Sections 21 and 23 of the state’s Road Traffic Law.

The case has been adjourned until May 4 for mention.
