Justice Olabisi Akinlade of an Igbosere High Court of Lagos on Monday adjourned the ongoing trial of Cynthia Osokogwu’s murder for adoption of final written addresses.
The court is yet to fix anew date due to late filing of the final written addresses by lawyer to the third and fourth accused persons, Mr. Chris Obiaka.
At Monday’s proceedings, Justice Akinlade ordered the lawyer to the third and fourth accused to file a joint written addresses, and that the prosecution should file a comprehensive written addresses replying to all.
Consequently, the matter was adjourned to November 16 for adoption of written addresses.
‎It would be recalled that four men, Okwumo Nwabufo, 34, Olisaeloka Ezike, 24, Orji Osita, 33, and Ezike Nonso, 25, are standing trial over alleged conspiracy and murder of Cynthia Osokogwu, 25, who was a postgraduate student of Nassarawa State University.
Osokogu was murdered on July 22, 2012, in Lagos by men she met and became friends with on a social media site, Facebook, at Cosmila Hotel in Festac area of Lagos.
