Lagos born female rapper, Mz Kiss has revealed why she takes to indigenous rap music like Olamide and late Dagrin. The rapper who is signed to Capital Hill records started music professionally in 2010.
Alongside other Capital Hill Records acts like, Chidinma, Fefe, Suspect and others MZ Kiss is aiming for the top with the release of her new single titled, ‘Owo Meta’ two months ago.
Giving the reason why she delved into men dominated Yoruba rap genre, MZ Kiss said, “Yes. Immediately I heard Dagrin rap, I started rapping in Yoruba language.”
Is she ready to take on the men? “The fact that I’m female is a victory in itself, and rapping in my dialect is a big deal too. When you see me in a movie, you’ll be like, ‘this girls is supposed to sing,’ but when you see me rap, you will be surprised.”
MZ Kiss says she plans to stay long in the game to give the men a run for their money, “My plan is to stay for a long while and release good music for as long as I live.”
