Experienced Super Falcons goalkeeper Precious Dede has expressed confidence the African champions will shine at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada next month.
Nigeria face former world champions USA, Sweden and North Korea in the group stage of the tournament, which gets underway on June 6.
Nigeria begin their campaign against Sweden on June 8 at the Winnipeg Stadium with their best-ever performance being a place in the quarterfinals in 1999.
“I am confident that we would do well at the World Cup,” stated Dede.
“We have a collection of young players who are doing very well presently and with experience from some of us, I am sure we can surpass our previous outings by doing even better at this World Cup.”
The Super Falcons left for Toronto, Canada, Tuesday for a two-week conditioning camp ahead of the World Cup.
A total of 26 players were on the flight to Canada.
