IT is still not clear if the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP slated for today in Port Harcourt, Rivers state will hold. At press time , Sharks stadium, venue of the convention is agog with members streaming in and out of the venue. Accreditation of delegates had not started at the time of this report. Some of the delegates were still in their hotel rooms. Senate Minority leader, Senator Godswil Akpabio left the Lemeredian hotel at about 11am apparently for a meeting. Acting National Chairman of the party , Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff also left his Lemeridian hotel at about 1025pm, promising that he would come back to address the media at the conference room of the hotel soon. Vanguard gathered that he headed to a meeting with other leaders of the party at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Delegates and party members at the Sharks stadium venue of the convention were waiting anxiously for any word from the leadership of the party. ‘We have been here. We don’t know what is happening. Nobody is talking to us. But I here several meetings are going on “, he said. Speculations were rife among party chieftains who did not want their names in print that the party may succumb to the various court orders against the convention. ” It is still a speculation that the convention may not hold” ,a party leader said
