The Police on Monday sealed the state secretariat of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress over the leadership crisis.

Heavily armed mobile policemen, it was gathered, barricaded the premises to prevent any of the factions in the state from gaining access to the party office.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Celestina Kalu, while confirming the development to our correspondent on the telephone said the move was to forestall breakdown of the law and order.

The crisis in the party had led to the setting up of a new caretaker committee by the Senator Spanner Okpozo led faction of the party.

However, the embattled chairman of the party, Prophet Jones Eruehad dismissed the dissolution of his executive, stating that Okpozo led elders forum lacked the legal right to set up a caretaker committee.

Our correspondent observed that over five Hilux Pickups were stationed around the premises, while the secretariat gate was locked as policemen parade its surrounding.
