People of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri South local government area are at war over the traditional ruler of the community.
Some of the aggrieved leaders have dragged Chief Wilson Omavowan Eboh, self- acclaimed royal father of the community to High Court 4, Warri, ostensibly to stop him from parading himself as the traditional ruler of the kingdom.
The plaintiffs include Chief Gideon Okumagba, Chief Christopher Okumagba, Prince John Edgar Eravor, Olorogun Victor Okumagba amongst others, who are asking Chief Eboh to parading himself as the Otota of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom.
Addressing a press briefing in Warri yesterday, the leaders (plaintiffs) said, “We have taken the matter to court; we did so immediately we noticed that Chief Wilson Eboh was parading himself as the Otota of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom.”
They warned him to desist from parading himself as such, pending the determination of the case in court.
They strongly advised and urged the general public not to address Chief Eboh as Otota in any occasion or gathering as he (Chief Eboh) has no capacity to represent Okere-Urhobo Kingdom anywhere or in any form henceforth.
The case has been fixed for 21st of April for hearing.
