The member representing Udu constituency in Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Hon Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor has unveiled his achievements in the last six months of his assumption of office to the 32 communities in the constituency.
Uviejitobor, the Minority Whip in the House, hosted the President General of Union of Udu Communities (UUC) and the 32 communities’ chairmen at his residence in Udu.
The lawmaker said his achievements included the renovation of 3 classroom blocks at Orhuwhorun primary school, construction of 6 toilet block at, construction of solar powered borehole at Orhuwhorhun primary school, renovation 3 classroom block at Ekrota primary school, construction of 3 classroom block at Ekete primary, renovation of 4 classroom block at Ukperheren primary school, renovation of 6 classroom block at Ujevwe primary school, renovation 6 classroom blocks at Ovwian primary school, renovation of 6 classroom block at Ogbe-Udu primary school among others.
Uviejitobor said the purpose of the meeting was to present his score card of achievement and to brainstorm on the way forward for development in Udu, and to ensuring that Udu constituency is totally transformed to an enviable height.
“At the House, we have no allocation but we can direct and ensure that the dividends of democracy are brought to the door steps of Udu people and Delta State in general. I urge you all to continue your support in this present government led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in order for more projects and other benefits to be attracted to Udu constituency,” he said.
The Chairman of Emadadja community, Comrade Sunday Subi who spoke on behalf of the 32 communities’ chairmen and the President General of Union of Udu Communities (UUC), expressed joy at the scorecard presentation by the lawmaker and urged him to continue in his ongoing physical transformation in Udu.
They advised him not be deterred by critics in the discharge of his electioneering promises to Udu people.
Meawhile, a prominent chief in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State, Chief Beck Hilter, has commended former President Goodluck Jonathan for the resounding victory by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Governor Seriake Dickson at the Bayelsa State governorship election.
The Ijaw leader and marine expert, in a statement in Warri, also expressed appreciation to the people of Bayelsa state, for the support for the PDP and Governor Dickson.
Hitler congratulated Governor Dickson on his re-election victory and appealed to Chief Timipre Sylva, candidate of All Progressives Congress APC to accept the outcome of the election and work with the governor.
He however, sympathised with the various families who lost their loved ones during the election, adding “now that the elections are over the people of Bayelsa state should live in peace ad come together to develop the state.”
