Labour Party candidate for Ughelli North/South/Udu federal constituency in the March 28th, 2015, Hon Julius Akpovoka has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police alleging conspiracy, forgery and alteration of results by INEC officials and member representing the federal constituency, Hon Solomon Awhinawhi.
The petition was addressed to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Criminal Investigation Intelligence, Force headquarters, Abuja.
Akpovoka who filed the petition through G.B Akpotu & Co chambers, is requesting for a full investigation on the allegations against Hon Awhinawhi and INEC officials.
Among those joined in the petition alongside the member representing Ughelli North/South/Udu federal constituency are: Henry Oko, Stella Okotete and the commission’s lawyer.
It was stated in the petition that Hon. Solomon Awhinawhi allegedly connived with the INEC staff to mutilate, alter and falsify INEC results in most of the electoral units in Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency and are requesting that the case should be properly investigated as the law demands.
He also called for the transfer of investigation of complaints on fraud leveled against Hon Awhinawhi from the Nigeria Police Headquarter, Asaba, Delta State following what he described as shoddy investigation and conflict of interest by the Delta State Police Command.
