Peoples Democratic Party Fact Finding Committee on Bayelsa State has debunked speculations in the media that Governor Seriake Dickson and former Governor DSP Alamieyeseigha were sent out of the peace meeting at Otueke, Bayelsa State, last Saturday.
According to secretary of the Fact Finding Committee, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, the committee held very fruitful private meetings with Governor Dickson, former President Goodluck Jonathan and other chieftains of the party in Bayelsa State.
“On the instruction of the chairman of the committee, Dr. Haliru Mohammed Bello, the chairman BOT and myself, the national vice chairman of the PDP hereby affirm that at no time were these two great party men were asked out of the meeting.
“The committee met with the governor and state exco on one hand, the former president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and the aggrieved party members on the other hand separately.
“The committee had a very good outing which resulted in the recall of the suspended and expelled party members.
“The recalled members were pleased to return to the Party.”
Dr Ojougboh alleged that the misinformation in the media was the handiwork of the APC “as they fear the outcome of the reconciliation in the party.”
The Fact Finding Committee urged the PDP members in Bayelsa State to “discountenance these mischief makers, bind and bond properly as we move to retain Bayelsa in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.”
