Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has called on Ijaw people to regard the Late Major Isaac Adaka Boro as their rallying point, stressing that his ideas and beliefs should engender peace, unity and progress in Ijaw Land.
Represented by his deputy, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd), he stated this during a wreath laying ceremony at the Ijaw Heroes Park Yenagoa, as part of activities marking the 2015 Isaac Boro Day celebrations.
Governor Dickson noted that, late Boro who is an icon of the Ijaw nation must be honoured because of the cause he stood for; pointing out that, all Ijaws should be proud of the heroic role he played during his lifetime.
According to him last year, the remains of Late Isaac Boro had to be exhumed from Lagos and brought back to Yenagoa for a proper and befitting burial to show that he is a hero of the Ijaw Nation.
He also said that the remains of three of Isaac Boro’s comrades and compatriots, namely; Major Iyananyo, Major Nothenham Dick and Capt. Amangala had also been exhumed from Bonny in Rivers State and brought back to be given a befitting burial at a later date.
