Leaders of Ndi Igbo in Bayelsa state at the weeked described the purported media publication on ‘OYC condemns division among Igbo leader in Bayelsa’, as most malicious, misleading, untrue and mischievous.
Reacting to the report, Special Assistant to Governor Seriake Dickson on Non indigenes, Chief Okwudili Chukwu Okoh while addressing newsmen in Yenagoa said, there are no division among Igbo leaders as speculated in the report.
Chief Oko noted that, this was a hand work of mischief makers, who delight in feeding the unsuspected public with falsehood.
He explained that, their main aim and objective in the state is to ensure that peace reigns, and that they are not playing politics with the unity of the people as reported.
He averred that, Ohaneze youth wing National has been scrapped,.and have seized to exist. “How can a branch claim leadership of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, if National leadership does not exist, how can local leaderahip exist? I believe the claimer is not making things easier for himself.”
In addition, the immediate past Preaident of Supreme Coucil of Non- Indigenes, Chief and Hon Sony Chukwu Eze said, the report on narrow interest is unfounded and misleading.
Chief Eze who doubles as Special Adviser said, “talking about the allegations of Narrow interest among Igbo leader is unfounded, to the best of my understanding bothers on the towers of imagination of the young man in question, even before our appointment as special appointees we have always fought for the interest of all Igbos. If not for his mischievous tendencies, which manifested through his divisive utterances and conducts.
“If anybody should be accused of narrow interest, he the self acclaimed OYC leader is the one, because we are aware of the vain meetings, he hold’s almost on daily basis, with the key target of tarnishing our image and sabotaging our efforts towards maintaining peace among Igbo community in the state”
